The Graying of the World

Recently, The whole world is aging, the trend has cause different effects in developed countries and developing countries. Moreover,  the problem of the global aging has increased year by year in most of the countries. At the same time, Global aging will challenge the world's economic well-being , the world population growth and the fertility rates.

Firstly, around the world, fertility rates experience dramatic decline. At this point,  there are three causes support this situation. the first cause is that the population moves to urban areas. Besides, children offer litter or no economic reward to parents. And the last one is that women gain in economic opportunity and  reproductive control in the world.

Secondly, the appearance of the "Middle aging"  causes the global aging as well. The reason for middle aging is more resources for infrastructure and industrial development. At the same time, the middle aging eases the region's overall dependency ratio. And increasingly people concerned with the healthcare and  retirement savings.

Last but not least, the global aging also brings a "demographic dividend". There are two reasons for the appearance of the demographic dividend. First of all, there are fewer children to feed, clothe and educate. So, people can leave more for adults to enjoy. Meanwhile, there are few productive workers as well. The second one is that more and more dependent elderly in the world, especially in China, Demographer Xiaochun Qiao calls a "4-2-1" society, in which one child must support two parents and four grandparents.

In conclusion,  in the longer run, the global aging will cause the population decline around the world. It will an inevitable tendency in many countries. By 2200, the world population will shrink to half of what it is today.
